Okay, so that's a bit dramatic for a blog entry title. Nope, not half way there raising funds (though I'm grateful for the $205 that several generous people have already contributed). Not half way for swimming without stopping. Not even half way for finishing the enormous sink full of dishes in my kitchen. So, half way for what? I'll get to that in a bit...
I started rehearsals this week for American Family at Park Square. It's a world premiere by the wonderful Carlyle Brown, directed by the fantastic Marion McClinton and starring a stellar cast including two actors whom I met on my first show here in Minneapolis eight years ago (Tracey Maloney and Gavin Lawrence)...I can already tell you that this is going to be a good show! It's been a while since I really used the ole Equity card (stage managed), but I couldn't resist working with this group of artists. This week has been extremely busy, working to make sure the whole company is supported and everything that needs to be done is getting done. It's been a while since I worked a full time job in addition to all my teaching with Upstream Arts, and I have been concerned with whether or not I'd get my gym time in and keep the food on track.
Monday was my regular boot camp class and I felt great starting the week, but Tuesday and Wednesday kicked my butt and I didn't make it to the gym. Recouped Thursday with the ungodly 6am workout with the lovely Miss Kari Kelly and the rest of Cult Tim (whew...a non-morning person leaving the house to workout at 5:30, yep, um, go team!). Friday got a little yoga in at home, Saturday was elliptical night, and that brings us to today. TODAY I DID HALF OF A TRIATHLON!!! I biked 8 miles (distance for the race is 15.5) and then swam 550 yards (distance for the race is 500), so only missing another 7.5 miles on the bike and 3.1 miles running. So I'll claim it, loud and proud: HALF WAY (and I'll do those dishes tomorrow)!
